PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland police are investigating a pair of early Thursday shootings.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says the first occurred at 3:20 a.m. at a northeast Portland motel. A 23-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound he is expected to survive.

Police have yet to make an arrest.

Two hours later, Central Precinct officers responded to a shooting in Old Town that injured a man in his 30s. Simpson says the man was uncooperative with investigators and no suspect has been found.
