PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - The American Red Cross says it is helping five families displaced by a Christmas morning fire in Pawtucket.

Crews responded to the blaze in a building on Prospect Street at about 5 a.m. on Sunday. There were no immediate reports of injuries and no word on what might have started the fire.

The Red Cross says it is providing immediate assistance to nine adults and two children after the fire and caseworkers will be meeting in the coming days to develop a long-term recovery plan for the residents.
