HOUSTON (AP) - Officers have arrested two more people accused of assaulting an off-duty Houston-area deputy while allegedly trying to rob him.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced the arrest of 17-year-old Michael Gene Jones and 19-year-old Israel Treqwaun Hunter.
The two were sought after the sheriff’s deputy was beaten Dec. 10 as he and his wife stopped at a gas station during a hunting trip. Investigators say the deputy and his wife fired their weapons at the fleeing suspects.
A juvenile suspect, whose name wasn’t released, was arrested Dec. 16.
Investigators say all three suspects are charged with aggravated robbery. Bond was $100,000 for Hunter. Jail records Friday didn’t immediately list attorney information for him or details on Jones.
