MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. (AP) - A Mountain View couple has been arrested and charged in the death of a 4-year-old girl.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2hwtS4A ) reports 29-year-old Victoria Dycus and her boyfriend, 31-year-old James Glenn, were charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the Nov. 19 death of Skylar Shellstrom. Skylar is Victoria Dycus’ daughter.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Dycus and Glenn have attorneys.
A probable-cause affidavit says the couple called 911 and reported that Skylar wasn’t breathing. The girl was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy says Skylar died as a result of blunt force abdominal injuries.
Arkansas State Police special agent said in an affidavit that he observed bruises on the girl’s body and burn patterns on her nose.
Dycus and Glenn are scheduled to appear in court Jan. 12.
