NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Two people have been arrested in a North Charleston shooting death.

Jail and police records show that 20-year-old Maulique Alexander Heyward of North Charleston was arrested early Wednesday and has been charged with murder and possession of a gun during a violent crime.

A 17-year-old male was also arrested early Wednesday and charged with being accessory to murder.

Police were called to a home in North Charleston early Monday and found a male victim on the ground. His name has not yet been released.

The shooting was originally investigated as an attempted murder. Police spokesman Spencer Pryor says the charges were upgraded when the victim died.
