FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Two weather systems are expected to drop rain and snow on northern Arizona beginning Wednesday and continuing through the weekend, with snow forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas.

The National Weather Service says the first system is expected to produce widespread rain through Friday, followed by the second system dropping an unknown amount of snow over the weekend.

Forecasters say driving conditions likely will be hazardous Saturday and Sunday.

The heaviest rain showers are forecast for Thursday, with 1 to 2 inches possible, especially along and south of the Mogollon Rim with snow generally confined to the highest elevations.

Most weekend precipitation is expected Saturday and Saturday night, with chances for showers decreasing Sunday as the system moves eastward.
