LANCASTER, N.H. (AP) - Fifteen towns in New Hampshire’s North Country are trying to team up to boost economic development.
Northern Community Investment Corp. President Jon Freeman tells the Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/2i5zE16 ) they’re trying to get communities in southern Coos County and northern Grafton County to partner and help improve the region.
The goal is for the communities to find common ground and establish a support network to help them succeed.
Freeman says the towns share certain aspects, including employment, housing, retail, recreation and education.
Strategies include cross-marketing and trying to increase the area’s population to strengthen the labor market and local tax bases.
The newspaper says the Southern Coos-Littleton Area Partnership isn’t yet official. Stakeholders have met and plan to do so again next year.
A mission statement is being developed.
