ARTESIA, N.M. (AP) - Investigators are working to determine the cause of an explosion outside an Artesia convenience store that left a man injured and forced a bomb squad to evacuate the area.

The Artesia Daily Press reports (https://bit.ly/2i5gd4p ) that police had responded after the explosion Sunday night. Authorities say a pickup truck was heavily damaged and the vehicle’s owner sustained minor injuries.

The New Mexico State Police bomb squad was called to the scene and evacuated a 750-foot radius around the vehicle before determining there was no further threat.
