Lufthansa flight from Houston to Frankfurt, Germany, diverted to JFK Airport after bomb threat

A “credible threat” of a bomb aboard a trans-Atlantic flight forced an emergency diversion to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport.

Lufthansa Flight 441, scheduled to fly overnight from Houston to Frankfurt, made the Monday evening landing at JFK and was sent to a remote area of the airport, the New York Daily News reported.

Citing “law enforcement sources,” the Daily News said the NYPD Bomb Squad was headed for the German airliner, a wide-bodied, four-engine Airbus A380.

Houston TV station KTRK Channel 13 reported that the bomb threat “was called in to the airline’s corporate office.”

New York TV station WPIX Channel-11 reported that “all 500 passengers have been unloaded and are boarding buses.”
