Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bob Harmon tells the newspaper that the man’s body was found in about 10 feet of snow on Sunday afternoon near Mount Rose Ski Tahoe resort.

Harmon says the search crews were able to find the body because of the jacket he was wearing. The Bee reports that the Recco reflective gear the man wore contains detectors that rescue teams can use to pinpoint a body.

Harmon says the skier’s identity will be revealed by the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
