BENTON, La. (AP) - A 14-year-old boy has been arrested, accused of terrorizing after he allegedly wrote statements that implied violence against other students at his school.
Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington says the Parkway High School student initially gave another student a letter with threatening comments against other students. That student notified a teacher who notified authorities.
Whittington, in a news release, said the student was removed from class Friday and his backpack was searched for weapons or other dangerous materials. None was found. However, he says, authorities found other handwritten notes detailing acts of violence toward those at the school.
The student was arrested and transported to the Ware Detention Center in Coushatta. It was unknown if he has an attorney. His name has not been released because of his age.
