A Georgia Southern University student who became the target of witch hunt after criticizing Mizzou protesters and Black Lives Matter activists in a Facebook post has not been fired from her job at a restaurant, as was previously reported, the restaurant said.

In a Facebook post Friday, Wild Wings Cafe, the restaurant where Ms. Faz works, said the student has not been terminated.

“While all personnel manners must remain confidential, we believe this situation calls for clarification. We would like to personally assure you Emily Faz has not been terminated,” the restaurant said.

As we said yesterday, our establishment supports each citizen’s First Amendment right,” the statement continued. “It is also our unconditional responsibility and number one priority to provide a safe environment for all of our team members and we will continue to do so. We hope you can understand this is a sensitive personnel matter and please trust we are handling with absolute care.”

On Monday Ms. Faz shared a link to a Nov. 14 Washington Times article on Facebook that pointed out some Mizzou and Black Lives Matter activists on social media were upset that media coverage of the Paris attacks had overshadowed their movement.

Above the link, Ms. Faz wrote “”I swear if I see this B.S. at Southern I will make you regret even knowing what a movement or a hashtag is, and you’ll walk away with your tail tucked.”

Her post soon went viral and sparked outrage among Mizzou and Black Lives Matter supporters on campus who saw the post as a threat.

One student took to Twitter to post the phone number for the Wild Wings Cafe, encouraging activists to call Ms. Faz’s boss to complain about her post.
