I certainly agree with your editorial “Treason in the U.S. Senate” (Web, March 15). The specter of Iranian-sponsored nuclear terrorism coming to the fore in future years should Iran get the bomb more than justifies Sen. Tom Cotton’s cautionary letter to Iranian leaders.

They have to be made aware of the fact that for an agreement to become an enforceable treaty, two-thirds of the Senate must “advise and consent.” If the agreement is revealed to be mere chimera, it’ll never be ratified and the next president could kill it with a stroke of a pen.

Freshman, 35-year-old Mr. Cotton should be commended for getting 47 signatures in an attempt to slow a runaway president whose foreign policy achievements have been a tsunami of geopolitical disasters for America, Europe and the Middle East. These disasters include a failed “reset” with Russia, ceding missile defense in Europe, not aiding Ukraine, setting Islamists loose in Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen and Afghanistan.

Kudos to the Senate’s “Magnificent 47” for taking this perhaps unprecedented but necessary step to preserve national security by mitigating an Obama administration headlong effort at yet another Obama “legacy” achievement — a nuclear Iran.
