Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry touts his military experience in part of a new online video released by his political action committee that also makes mention of his recent trips to the early-primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
“At this particular point in time, lookin’ at the field, there’s only one individual that’s ever had the uniform of this country on,” says Mr. Perry, who served in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 to 1977. “And that’s me. And that matters.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who has formed an exploratory committee to test the waters on his own possible presidential run, has served as an Air Force lawyer and currently serves in the reserves.
