D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid will miss four to six weeks after undergoing surgeries on his right hand and right knee, according to the team.
On July 8, Hamid had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to smooth out the meniscus. He also had a procedure on a tendon in his right hand.
The 24-year-old Hamid has an 8-4-4 record and leads MLS with an .819 save percentage and a 0.75 goals-against average. He’s tied for fourth with six shutouts, and is sixth with 59 saves.
In 2014, he earned MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
