The Right Side Forum,” an hour-long conservative live news and talk show hosted by columnist Armstrong Williams, offers a special, one-hour forum broadcast, airing Saturday on News Channel 8 at 10:30 a.m. The topic this week: “African American Manhood Today.”
His guests are Justin Gaither, executive director, of Team Highlyfav, and five mentors from the organization: Bryant Johnson, Larry Macdowell, Johnny Baskin, Eugene Gibbs, and Vaughn Macafee. Tyese Smith, founder of the Pink Lace Girls Camp, will also be on hand as a guest.
“In recent years it feels like every time you turn around there’s more bad news about African American men: killed and harassed by police or other security officers, high rates of unemployment and incarceration, low rates of college graduation and marriage. But those issues don’t tell the whole story about African American men. There are many African American men who are responsible, productive members of society who help others follow in their footsteps,” Armstrong comments.
“We need to celebrate African American men who raise their children, honor their wives and uplift our society. Too often it seems as if they’re hidden gems. They’re not! I’m looking forward to speaking with several of them about what it means to be a man today. If you want to know how to become a pillar of the community like these men, or how to meet a man like my guests. You won’t want to miss this Saturday’s The Right Side Forum,” the host adds.
The show, which debuted in January, airs live on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. on News Channel 8 in the Washington, D.C., area, and repeats again at 6:30 p.m.
