Analysts, critics and pundits continue to wonder if President Obama “loves” America, a question recently suggested by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Here comes the poll, this a Rasmussen Reports survey of 800 voters released Tuesday.

Fifty one percent of the respondents disagree with the idea. But there are those who don’t.

“Voters overwhelmingly say they love this country, but one-out-of-three doesn’t believe President Obama feels that way,” the poll states. It found that 35 percent agree with Mr. Giuliani’s statement - “I do not believe that the president loves America. He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.”

There’s the inevitable partisan divide, though: “62 percent of Republican voters do not believe Obama loves the nation he leads. Seventy-seven percent of Democrats and unaffiliated voters by a 48 percent to 33 percent margin say that’s not true,” the survey states.

“But it’s interesting to note that 8 percent of Democrats, 14 percent of GOP voters and one-in-five unaffiliated voters are undecided about the man who has served as president of the United States for over six years now,” the poll states.

Meanwhile, 92 percent of all voters say they love this country, and 57 percent believe the United States is more exceptional than other nations. The survey of 800 likely voters was conducted on February 22-23.
