WASHINGTON — The District of Columbia’s snow team is readying for winter weather.

The city says it will deploy its snow team starting at 3 p.m. Monday. That means drivers will be readying their plows to pre-treat the roads. The city says more than 200 plows will be on their routes by 5 p.m.

Officials say the storm system bringing the snow should reach the region between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and bring 3 to 6 inches of snow overnight Monday into Tuesday morning.

The heaviest snow is expected between 8 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
