Two men were arrested Monday night at FedEx Field in connection with a fight in which a small knife was recovered, according to law enforcement authorities.

No one was stabbed during the fight, as was insinuated in a video posted on Facebook Monday night that captured some of the mayhem following the Washington Redskins’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

“It was a fight, just a regular old fight,” said Officer Michael Owen, a spokesman for Prince George’s County Police.

Officer Owen confirmed that a small folding pocketknife, which can be seen on the ground in the video, was recovered, but he said it was not used in the fight and that no one was stabbed. He said police were unable to determine who the knife belonged to.

The brawl started with an argument between football fans and escalated when one of the men apparently pulled out a knife and another man punched him, according to John Erzen, spokesman for the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The state’s attorney has filed second-degree assault charges against 23-year-old James Galo, who authorities say was involved in the brawl and tried to kick several police officers.

But court documents filed in the case do not reference the knife. Mr. Galo punched a man in the face during the brawl, giving the victim a bloody nose, according to court records.

A second man who was arrested, 20-year-old Khaid Hassouneh, was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing and hindering a police investigation. Police said he followed officers who arrested Mr. Galo and demanded that they release his friend.

The two men were among a total of eight people who were arrested at FedEx Field during the game, a figure that “is about average for a close divisional game,” Officer Owen said.
