“For the first time, 14 Republican presidential candidates will be taking questions from Granite Staters at the Voters First Forum being hosted at Saint Anselm College tonight,” reports the New Hampshire Union Leader, which sorted through thousands of responses from readers after the newspaper issued a public call for suggested questions.
“The top two on their minds: Immigration and the economy,” the news organization stated, adding that moderator Jack Heath will field inquiries about the topics, among dozens of others, during the two hour event. C-SPAN will carry the it live at 7 p.m. ET.
A Senate vote keeps three participants in Washington. Sens. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Rand Paul instead will appear live from C-SPAN headquarters in the nation’s capital, essentially a block from the U.S. Capitol.
The rest will be on stage: Jeb Bush, Sen. Lindsey Graham - who opted to appear with the group - Rick Perry, Govs. Chris Christie, Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal and John Kasich; Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, George Pataki, and Ben Carson. Frontrunner Donald Trump declined to participate.
