Mississippi State University said Thursday a suspected shooter at its Starkville campus had been apprehended. 

Around 11:20 a.m. the school tweeted an active shooter was reported at Carpenter hall and told students to seek safety immediately. 

By 11:40 the suspected shooter was in custody. The school tweeted no injuries were reported and there was no report of shots being fired. 



Students are still being told to seek shelter until further notice. Others are advised to stay away from campus until further notice.
