Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush says he’d like to watch a baseball game with Teddy Roosevelt — and possibly rapper Pitbull.

Asked who he would take if he could bring “any historian or inventor” to a baseball game, the potential 2016 GOP presidential contender said that he’d probably bring the United States’ 26th president - but that he might want to have Pitbull there as well.

“The reason you like baseball is that you can actually have a conversation with people,” Mr. Bush said as he signed autographs in video captured by TMZ. “Might want to have Pitbull, too.”

Buzzfeed reported in February on Republican efforts to engage the Cuban-American Miami-based rapper in politics, though Pitbull said in a statement that he’s “not here to be part of any political party.”

“I’m here to bring political parties to my party because they can’t, they won’t they never will, stop the Pitbull party, Dale!” he said.

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida entered the 2016 presidential race earlier this month, with Buzzfeed reporting that Mr. Rubio is on a first-name basis with the rapper, also know as Armando Pérez.
