Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason said Friday that he will no longer donate to the University of Maryland after a screenings of “American Sniper” were cancelled to appease a Muslim student group.

Mr. Esiason made the comment on his radio show “Boomer & Carton” Friday night. The former “Terrapin” said he is “never donating another dime” to the college, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

He later shared his decision in a tweet, saying “As a 9/11/01 victim I’m deeply saddened and insulted.”

This isn’t the first instance of a school facing backlash over cancellation of the Clint Eastwood film. The University of Michigan cancelled a screening of the movie earlier this month. School officials reversed course after heavy backlash, which included its football coach Jim Harbaugh.
