The actor who played one of the young twins on the situation-comedy “Everybody Loves Raymond” apparently has committed suicide, according to reports in multiple entertainment-industry trade outlets.
Sawyer Sweeten, who played Geoffrey on the late-1990s show, took a fatal gunshot wound, apparently by his own hand, while visiting family in Texas, Variety reported, citing his manager Dino May.
Radar Online said he had shot himself on the front porch.
Sweeten starred alongside twin brother Sullivan Sweeten and sister Madylin Sweeten for 139 episodes. The twins were still 16-month toddlers when they made their debut on the show. They played the twin sons of titular character Raymond, played by Ray Romano.
“At this time I would like to encourage everyone to reach out to the ones you love. Let them have no doubt of what they mean to you,” Madylin wrote on her Facebook page Thursday.
The siblings had largely stayed out of the limelight in recent years, making their last public appearance together in 2010.
Sawyer was 19.
