WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A former employee at a TD Bank branch in Palm Beach County and a co-conspirator are going to prison for operating an identity theft scheme.

A federal judge on Thursday sentenced 32-year-old Tenisha Francis of Lake Worth to more than three years behind bars. Ryan Francis of Riviera Beach got more than four years in prison.

Prosecutors say Tenisha Francis used her former TD Bank job to open seven fraudulent accounts in the names of others. Those accounts were used to deposit tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen U.S. Treasury checks. Tenisha Francis was paid fees to open the accounts and the money eventually went to Ryan Francis, his wife and automotive company.

Both pleaded guilty earlier this year to aggravated identity theft and theft of government funds.
