SEATTLE (AP) — Members of the Mount Calvary Christian Center say they’ll be out every Sunday protesting a marijuana shop that opened last week right next door.

The Rev. Reggie Witherspoon told KING (https://kng5.tv/1rS3hyQ ) the location of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop disrespects and disregards the church, which helps people with drug addictions.

More than 100 people demonstrated outside the shop Sunday and said it’s too close to activities for children.

The state marijuana law prohibits pot shops within 1,000 feet of schools, playgrounds and parks but doesn’t mention churches.

Witherspoon has filed a complaint with the Washington State Liquor Control Board.
