LETTER TO THE EDITOR: NATO’s allegiances are regrettably clear

OPINION:

Turkey best illustrates columnist Bruce Fein’s claim that NATO has passed its sell-by date (“Time to withdraw from NATO,” Web, Oct. 24). It wasn’t that long ago that NATO declared its readiness to come to the aid of Turkey if violence spilled over from Syria. NATO dispatched six Patriot missile batteries. So we have the nonsense of a so-called “defensive” organization offering to defend one of its members from the consequences of having aided and abetted jihadist insurgents in a neighboring state.
