The son of late folk singer Johnny Cash was arrested Monday for stripping down to his underwear in the middle of Canada’s Deer Lake Airport in Ontario.
Deer Lake Royal Canadian Mounted Police told CBC News that John Carter Cash, 44, was in Newfoundland for a hunting trip when he caused a scene trying to return to the United States.
Police were told that Mr. Cash was drunk when he stripped down to his skivvies in front of other travelers. Airport security was reportedly able to convince the country music singer to put his clothes back on before police arrived.
Mr. Cash was released when he sobered up and was allowed to take a flight home the following morning without charges, Us Weekly reported. Police said he was cooperative and had no previous criminal record.
Johnny Cash died in 2003 at age 71 after complications from diabetes — only four months after the passing of his wife, June, Cash Jr.’s mother.
