After just two months in action, Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s new political action committee raised over $180,000 for efforts to sway the upcoming midterm elections.

According to new campaign finance records published Wednesday, RickPAC spent almost $50,000 in total, with over $30,000 going to 13 GOP campaigns in Iowa, including Senate candidate Joni Ernst and Rep. Steve King, who is running for re-election.

The early presidential caucus state is sure to be a major playing ground for Mr. Perry and other 2016 hopefuls. Mr. Perry has visited the state 7 times since last year.
