LOS ANGELES (AP) - Spring has come early at the J. Paul Getty Museum.
The Los Angeles museum’s celebrated Edouard Manet painting, “Spring,” goes on public display Tuesday.
The Getty acquired the 1881 portrait earlier this month for $65.1 million at a Christie’s auction in New York City.
“Spring” depicts a Parisian actress in a flowered dress, bonnet and parasol as an embodiment of the season.
The painting is being displayed in the Getty’s West Pavilion among the museum’s impressionist and post-impressionist works.
