ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A prominent Abraham Lincoln scholar will join the authors of a newly published book on the Civil War for an event at the New York State Museum.
Civil War historian Harold Holzer of Westchester wrote the forward to the book, “An Irrepressible Conflict: The Empire State in the Civil War.”
The book, published last month by SUNY Press, is a companion to a yearlong exhibit of the same name that opened at the downtown museum in September 2012. The exhibit told the story of New York state’s key role in providing the most men, supplies and funding for the Union’s war effort.
The book was written by the museum’s Robert Weible, Jennifer Lemak and Aaron Nobel. Holzer will join them Monday night at the museum for an event celebrating the book’s publication.
