BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - “South Park” producer and animation director Eric Stough told students during his keynote speech at the University of Colorado commencement that life is a lot like animation - constantly in motion.

After a few opening jokes about legal marijuana and CU’s rivalry with Colorado State, he advised graduates Friday to build a strong foundation and rely on it when life gets tough. Stough, who graduated from CU in 1995 with a film degree, said “your diploma is an inanimate object, so be the animator and bring it to life.”

The Daily Camera reports (https://bit.ly/1oyCMMg ) the university conferred 5,891 degrees - including 4,489 bachelor’s degrees, 911 master’s degrees, 159 law degrees and 332 doctoral degrees.

South Park, the popular, irreverent animated series, is set in a fictional town in Colorado’s South Park region.
