ENID, Okla. (AP) - Police in Enid say a body found following a fire at a home on the city’s south side remains unidentified and has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office.

Capt. Jack Morris said Friday that the medical examiner has asked a local hospital for medical records in an effort to identify the body that was found Wednesday following the fire. Morris said that it’s hoped a positive identification can be made next week.

The body was found in a detached building behind the home where the fire is believed to have begun before spreading to the home. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
