OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Insurance Department is hoping to teach senior citizens a few tricks for fighting criminals who prey on the elderly.
Commissioner John Doak announced Wednesday a series of conferences that will be held across the state to help seniors protect themselves from being swindled. The conferences will be held throughout the state in June in July.
The agency’s anti-fraud experts will address Medicare fraud, home repair scams, identity theft, credit card fraud and others.
Each conference is free and open to the public, but there is a $30 fee for insurance professionals seeking a continuing education credit.
