EUREKA, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California man accused of striking a U.S. Forest Service officer with his car during a chase has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other charges.

Humboldt County prosecutors tell the Times-Standard of Eureka (https://bit.ly/1sgQR3o) Silverio Sanchez, of Eureka, entered the plea during his arraignment on Monday. Sanchez is also facing assault and evasion charges in connection with the March 15 chase near Dinsmore during which authorities say Sanchez struck and injured the forest service officer. Sheriff’s officials say Sanchez eventually got away on foot.

He was located at a home in Eureka and arrested on Thursday.
