NEW YORK (AP) - Tampa Bay Rays minor league pitcher Steve Geltz has been suspended 50 games after a second positive drug test.
The commissioner’s office issued the penalty Monday. Geltz was pitching for Triple-A Durham. The 26-year-old right-hander made two relief appearances for the Los Angeles Angels in 2012.
Geltz was penalized after testing positive for a drug of abuse.
There have been 26 players suspended this year under the minor league drug program.
