DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - A 23-year-old Bridgeport man has died after being shot outside a Danbury nightclub, where there had earlier been a fight.

Police tell the News Times (https://bit.ly/RkFQQS ) the man was found at about 2 a.m. Saturday on Main Street about a block Mambo Café.

His name has not been released.

Police say they believe the shooting was related to a fight a few minutes earlier at the bar involving a large number of people. They were reviewing security video from the nightclub on Sunday, hoping to identify a shooter.

This is the first homicide of the year in Danbury, and Mayor Mark Boughton called it a tragic situation.

The café was closed on Sunday.
