SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed while riding a bicycle in the carpool lane of an Orange County freeway.

The California Highway Patrol said in a statement Saturday that the man was riding on Interstate 5 in Santa Ana late Friday night when he was hit by a Honda and thrown into the freeway’s main lanes when he was hit by more vehicles.

The CHP says the man died at the scene. His name and age have not been released and no arrests or citations were made.
