EDUCATION: BS from United States Naval Academy (1992); MA from Temple University (1995).
POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Elected to state Senate in 2000, served through 2008. Senate minority leader from 2006 to 2008. Runner-up in 2012 Republican gubernatorial primary.
MILITARY: U.S. Navy, 11 years, currently inactive reserve status.
FAMILY: Married to Terry Getten for 22 years. They have two daughters and two sons.
