NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office says a man falsely identifying himself as a sheriff’s deputy has been calling and leaving phone messages with county residents.

The department says it received two reports Thursday and two more on Friday that a man identifying himself as Lt. Timothy Clark with the sheriff’s office left angry messages and told the person receiving the call to call him back immediately.

The department says it has no employee named Timothy Clark and that the phone number to the caller is answered with a message saying the number is disconnected.

Sheriff Joe Lester says anyone receiving such a call should hang up immediately and report the call to the sheriff’s office.
