RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming State Penitentiary has received national accreditation with the American Correctional Association.

The state Corrections Department says the prison in Rawlins successfully passed an ACA audit.

It says the prison met all 59 mandatory standards set by the ACA and 99.7 of the non-mandatory standards that applied to the facility. The minimum passing scores are 100 percent of mandatory standards and 90 percent of non-mandatory standards.

The American Correctional Association is the most widely respected organization setting standards practice for correctional facilities and programs.
