TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) - A man sought in the drug-related death of a southern New Jersey woman has been arrested in North Carolina.
Ocean County prosecutors say 24-year-old Paul Robinson of Toms River was arrested Thursday night by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in Mebane. He was being held there on $200,000 bail, awaiting an extradition hearing.
Robinson and two other men - 41-year-old Rufus Young of Freehold and 23-year-old Pedro Valentin Jr of Perth Amboy - face charges of manslaughter and strict liability for a drug-induced death.
The charges stem from the February 2013 death of a 23-year-old woman who was found unresponsive in a Toms River home. Authorities say empty bags of heroin and a needle were found near her.
An autopsy determined that she died from a negative reaction to heroin.
