TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A soldier attacked over the weekend at a bar in downtown Tacoma had just moved to the area from Texas, his family said Wednesday.
The News Tribune reports (https://is.gd/yLqtj5 ) Korry McClanahan is being treated at Madigan Army Medical Center. His family says parts of his frontal and temporal lobes had to be removed because of damage from the assault.
When the sedation wears off, they’ll know better the effects of his injuries.
The soldier is serving at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. He’s from Corona, California, where he has a 4-year-old son.
McClanahan was attacked after being at Steel Creek American Whiskey Co. with a friend early Saturday. The two stepped outside to smoke, when police say an argument started with others in a group.
