CDOT inspects road bridges that survived flood

JOHNSTOWN, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado Department of Transportation is inspecting 411 state highway bridges that survived September’s flooding.

The Denver Post reports (https://bit.ly/1k5SYWz ) that four teams from CDOT as well as hired consultant will inspect the bridges through June. CDOT wants to pinpoint structural problems, if any, and fix them before a big spring runoff.

Joshua Laipply, state bridge engineer for CDOT, said that about 1,000 bridges were damaged by the floods with the most severe getting immediate work.
