NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - A 31-year-old Natchez man, who had been on life support following a shooting earlier this month, has died in a Jackson hospital.
The Natchez Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1keByBl ) Peter Jones III was shot at least three times May 18 at a Natchez nightclub.
Jones suffered various wounds and was taken to the University of Medical Center in Jackson where he was put on life support.
Adams County Coroner James Lee says Jones died from the injuries on Tuesday.
Forty-nine-year-old Marvin Antony Watson turned himself into authorities the same day of the shooting and was charged with attempted murder.
Justice Court Judge Charlie Vess said he would hold a hearing to upgrade Watson’s charge to murder.
It was unclear whether Watson has an attorney.
