SPAFFORD, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 50-year-old man is being treated after he drove his pickup truck through the side of a central New York home.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office says Manuel Pacheco of Syracuse was driving around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday when he failed to stop at a stop sign, left the road and slammed into a house in the town of Spafford, 15 miles southwest of Syracuse.

The pickup came to rest in the kitchen. Deputies say the occupant of the house was asleep upstairs and wasn’t injured.

Pacheco suffered a head injury and was taken to a Syracuse hospital. Deputies say his injuries aren’t life-threatening.

Police say the area was foggy at the time of the crash and Pacheco told deputies he didn’t see the stop sign because of the conditions. He hasn’t been ticketed.
