CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Casper College was locked down briefly Wednesday after a report of shots fired nearby.

Casper police Sgt. Lyle Berg says reports came in just after 4 a.m. of six to nine gunshots somewhere near campus. He says officers investigated but didn’t find any sign of a shooter or any gunshot damage.

Just a year and a half ago, 25-year-old Christopher Krumm shot his college instructor father with an arrow in a Casper College classroom.

Krumm killed his father with a knife before fatally stabbing himself. Earlier, Krumm had fatally stabbed his father’s girlfriend at a nearby home.

Wednesday’s lockdown lasted from 6:30-7 a.m. School is out for summer until summer classes begin Monday but police wanted to keep any shooter out of campus buildings.

Berg says the investigation is continuing.
