BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - Bluefield Regional Medical Center’s board has named David Henry as chief executive officer.

Henry’s appointment is effective June 2. He will replace Bill Hawley, who resigned last week.

Media outlets report that the hospital announced Henry’s appointment on Tuesday.

Henry most recently served as assistant CEO at Regional Hospital of Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee.

Last year, state regulators approved the Bluefield hospital’s $5 million plan to upgrade its intensive and coronary units.
