CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - Corinth police are investigating the weekend gunshot death of a taxi driver.

The victim in the shooting early Sunday was identified as 66-year-old Cleo L. Henderson of Corinth.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (https://bit.ly/1moYlPl ) reports that Henderson was found dead of a gunshot wound about 2:30 a.m. outside the Liberty Cab stand where he worked.

Police Capt. Ralph Dance says a co-worker for the cab company, who had previously spoken with Henderson about 1 a.m., went looking for him after being unable to reach him again by phone.

Dance said it appears someone may have robbed Henderson when he exited the cab stand. It was not known whether the suspect left the scene by vehicle or on foot.
