PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Gov. Dennis Daugaard has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and South Dakota flags at half-staff Monday morning in observance of Memorial Day.

His proclamation is in accordance with one signed by President Barack Obama.

Flags will be flown at full-staff from noon until sunset.

Daugaard is also asking state residents to observe the president’s request that Americans unite in prayer at 11 a.m. local time and that a moment of silence be observed at 3 p.m.
